No visit to Ireland is truly complete without experiencing its most iconic natural wonder—the breathtaking Cliffs of Moher. After enjoying a hearty breakfast in Galway, begin your scenic day trip along the shores of Galway Bay, with your first stop in the colorful village of Kinvara, home to the striking Dunguaire Castle. Built in 1520 by the O’Hynes clan, the castle stands on the site of a former stronghold linked to King Guaire, a legendary ruler of Connacht.
Your journey then takes you through the dramatic limestone terrain of the Burren, a surreal landscape rich with ancient monuments, including the 5,800-year-old Poulnabrone Dolmen, one of Ireland’s most famous Neolithic tombs.
Pause for lunch in the coastal village of Doolin, a hub for traditional Irish music and local charm, before arriving at the awe-inspiring Cliffs of Moher. Rising over 200 metres above the Atlantic Ocean, the cliffs offer sweeping views that stretch across to the distant Aran Islands.
After time to explore and appreciate this natural masterpiece, return to Galway, with memories of an unforgettable day on Ireland’s west coast.
Overnight in Galway.
After breakfast, set off early this morning for a memorable journey to Inis Mór, the largest and most iconic of the three Aran Islands. Isolated by location, the Aran Islands have preserved a way of life that reflects a more traditional Ireland—rich in heritage and untouched by time. Discover the history of the famous Aran Jumper and observe age-old crafts such as basket weaving. On Inis Mór, you’ll still see horse-drawn traps in use and hear the Irish Gaelic language spoken as a first language. The island is home to over 50 ancient monuments, with the most renowned being Dún Aonghasa, a striking prehistoric fort perched dramatically on the cliff edge of the island’s western shore. After a day of exploration at your own pace, return by ferry to Rossaveal and take the shuttle transfer back to Galway City.
Overnight in Galway.
This morning, check out of your hotel and board the train back to Dublin City. Arriving with plenty of time to spare, you can revisit favorite spots or explore attractions you may have missed during your first stay in the capital.
If the weather is pleasant, enjoy a leisurely stroll through St. Stephen’s Green, Dublin’s most famous park, or wander along the lively Grafton Street, filled with shops, cafés, and street performers. Be sure to stop for a photo with the iconic Molly Malone statue, a beloved symbol of the city.
For those interested in Irish political history, consider visiting Leinster House, home to Ireland’s parliament, or Dublin Castle, which served as the seat of British rule in Ireland from the 13th century. The castle grounds also host the remarkable Chester Beatty Library, featuring rare manuscripts, prints, and artworks from across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. Don’t miss the beautifully preserved Chapel Royal, adorned with intricate plasterwork and carved wood.
As evening falls, dive back into Dublin’s vibrant traditional music and pub scene. Favorites include The Cobblestone and The Auld Dubliner, both known for their live Irish music. Or step into Kehoe’s Bar, one of Dublin’s last great Victorian heritage pubs, where the historic atmosphere is as rich as the pint in your hand.
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and continue with your onward journey.
